CORPUS: open seven days a week throughout July and August,
and evenings from Thursday to Saturday.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Summer is here and the holidays are about to begin. Since this is such a good time of year to visit attractions and places of interest, we are taking the time to inform you of the latest developments at CORPUS 'journey through the human body'.

OPENING TIMES DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS
In July and August of this year, CORPUS 'journey through the human body' will be open daily, including Mondays. On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, we will be staying open late, until 10 p.m.
This means that on those days, the last 'journey through the human body' will depart at 8 p.m.

CONFERENCES
Several conferences have taken place in the CORPUS Congress Centre since its opening.
The diversity of the conferences is particularly striking: we have been host to companies from the medical and pharmaceutical sectors, the kitchens branch and the world of cosmetics.
In addition to conferences, a number of workshops, dinners and presentations have also been held.
Because CORPUS is able to divide the conference area into a range of smaller breakout rooms, we are able to offer a wide range of facilities to meet the wishes of our customers.
During the summer months the terrace - accessible via the Congress Centre lounge - is open to Congress Centre visitors. A real must for a refreshing break!
For more information you can contact Petra Romeijn. She will start on the first of July as Manager Congresses and Events for CORPUS Congress Centre. Petra has worked for 12 years on different positions for the Amsterdam Arena.

During the long summer evenings, visitors can enjoy the sweeping views of
the surrounding area from the CORPUS penthouse on the 8th floor.
This great location would really add that finishing touch to your dinner or party!

DAVITAMON:  ONE OF THE FOUNDING FATHERS WHO HAVE MADE CORPUS POSSIBLE

Wendy Poels, product manager at Davitamon: 'Davitamon wants to be everyone's partner in the pursuit of a fit and healthy lifestyle. The food we eat doesn't always provide all the vitamins we need to keep us healthy, either because we are too busy to eat properly, or because our body has different needs at different stages of our life. Examples of this include pregnant women, children or the over 50s. As a specialist in the field of vitamins and resistance, we want to give consumers that extra bit of support they need. Davitamon's 80 years of experience means we have the right product for everyone, all made with high quality ingredients and convenient to use.'

Davitamon's philosophy is a perfect match for the philosophy of CORPUS: healthy living, eating and exercising, so it was only logical that we would get together.

Wendy: 'When we first heard about CORPUS, we thought straight away: this is such a unique and innovative project; we definitely want to contribute to its success.'
'We feel that the great thing about CORPUS is that it draws attention to healthy living, eating and exercising, in a very positive way. And that is what we are trying to do with Davitamon. A fresh and positive character and approach are very important to us. Davitamon's latest product - Vitz - is a perfect example of this, a multivitamin in the form of a chewing gum.'

Davitamon has its own exhibit in the interactive area of CORPUS 'journey through the human body', on the 5th floor. A cheerful-looking stand, it features four pillars representing the brand's four specific target groups: babies & children, adults, over 50s, and pregnant women. Visitors to the stand can create a film with themselves in the leading role. 9,000 films have already been made since the opening, and the response from visitors has been very enthusiastic. The consumer services department at Davitamon regularly receives positive reactions and thanks from visitors.
Wendy: 'Of course we are very happy with the response. It was an exciting exhibit to develop; you try to create something that will appeal to visitors of all ages, from 8 to 88. But the response has far exceeded our expectations. This year Davitamon is celebrating its 80th anniversary. We will certainly be involving CORPUS.' DUINWATERBEDRIJF ZUID-HOLLAND DOES MORE THAN JUST SUPPLY WATER.
Duinwaterbedrijf Zuid-Holland is another CORPUS Founding Father.
This water company supplies reliable drinking water to around 1.2 million people in the western part of Zuid-Holland every day. Water from the dunes between Katwijk and Monster is extracted and turned into drinking water using a totally unique process; it is not used anywhere else in the world. Duinwaterbedrijf Zuid-Holland manages the dunes from which the water is extracted and is constantly seeking a good balance between nature, recreation and water extraction.

Marijke Poppelier, head of Communications: 'Water is of vital importance to man. A person is not only made up of 70-80% water, his very life is dependent on water. Without water a person can only survive for about 3 or 4 days - so as a water company, we couldn't be left out of CORPUS!
Through this collaboration we want to show everyone how important it is to drink enough water to stay in good health. Our branch organisation, Vewin, was one of the parties who signed the Covenant on Overweight and Obesity in 2005.'

'This means that we are joining the battle against overweight and obesity. Drinking plenty of water is an important weapon in this battle, as water is a great thirst quencher, without any sugar, sweeteners, fat or colouring... or calories!

The company's presence in CORPUS includes a water cooler where visitors can help themselves to a refreshing bottle of cold water. Duinwaterbedrijf Zuid-Holland is also working together with Stichting Waterwijs to place similar water coolers in secondary schools throughout the Netherlands, in an effort to stimulate young people to drink enough water. Students are charged 10 cents to fill a water bottle. The bottles are handed out at the beginning of the school year. A part of the profit goes to a good cause related to water, for example Simavi.

This brings us to the social side of Duinwaterbedrijf Zuid-Holland: they do more than just supply water. They are also involved in encouraging consumers to use water wisely. Marijke: 'At the moment there is no shortage of water in the Netherlands, but we never know what the future may bring. We feel that it is important that people use water wisely. We also believe that everyone has the right to good and reliable drinking water, which is why we want to contribute towards safe drinking water in developing countries. We are working with Simavi to achieve this by organising a collection among our customers each year to support one of Simavi's specific water projects.'
Duinwaterbedrijf Zuid-Holland has only recently signed on as a CORPUS Founding Father. We are currently discussing how we can further develop this collaboration.
You can find more information about Duinwaterbedrijf Zuid-Holland on the  Duinwaterbedrijf website.

DID YOU KNOW THAT.....
when you take a packed lunch to work, a slice of cucumber or a lettuce leaf in your sandwich will stop it from drying out?

AND THAT.........
aversion to spinach is genetically determined? German scientists have discovered that the variant of a single gene can affect our eating patterns. It turns out that people with a particular gene that enables them to identify bitter substances dislike spinach and cabbage.

People who are less sensitive to bitter substances also tend to eat more fats. So an aversion to certain types of food can be hereditary.

CORPUS 'journey through the human body' wishes you a happy and healthy summer!
